We believe that speech-language pathologists and other therapists deserve to have control over their workload, schedule, client population and income; however, we know that many professionals feel unsure of how to make that a reality. We are thrilled to offer a training and mentorship program designed to equip individuals to begin their own solo private practice!

What is Better Together?

Better Together is a customizable program designed to help therapists, clinicians and educators learn how to begin a private practice.

Classes

Small group training sessions, offered in-person or virtually. Topics are selected to provide the foundational knowledge and skills to launch your solo private practice, with an emphasis on Early Intervention as a steady referral source.

Mentorship

Often, we don't know the questions to ask until we get started. The mentorship component of this program is designed to ensure that you have access to the ongoing support you need as you get started.

Mentorship is offered one-on-one,

on an as needed basis.

BUSINESS BASICS

This course covers basic information you need to help you begin to plan your business. Topics include business structures, naming your business, employees vs. contractors, tax write-offs, and record keeping.

BILLING

This course covers foundational knowledge about how to bill clients. It covers understanding commercial insurance, including contracting/credentialing, and understanding coverage and EOBs. You will learn how to submit claims to commercial insurance, how to bill for Early Intervention clients and private pay options.

EARLY INTERVENTION

CREDENTIALING

This course covers the Early Intervention application process, including IMPACT enrollment. You will also learn about temporary vs. full credentials, evaluator credentials and how to renew your credential.

EARLY INTERVENTION PROCESS & PAPERWORK

This course covers the logistical information you will need to provide services in the Illinois Early Intervention program as an independent provider. You will learn the process from intake to the IFSP to transition, daily documentation, report formats and other required paperwork to be prepared for annual monitoring.

EVIDENCE-BASED SERVICES IN EARLY INTERVENTION

This course covers best-practices in Early Intervention, including an emphasis on bagless, routines-based intervention, parent coaching and wholistic evaluation and intervention.

FIVE ENROLLMENT OPTIONS AVAILABLE!

ALL-IN-ONE PACKAGE - $500 Consider this option if you have an idea for your business or are curious about private practice. This is a good fit if you are looking for a walk-through of all of the information you need to get started, begin billing, enroll in Early Intervention and feel confident about providing services to young children. This package includes unlimited mentorship for six-months.

BUSINESS START-UP MINI-SERIES - $300 Consider this option if you need help understanding business basics and biling, but are not interested in Early Intervention as a referral and revenue source or you are already a credentialed Early Intervention provider. This option includes unliminted mentorship for six-months.

EI MINI-SERIES - $300 Consider this option if you are interested in becoming an independent Early Intervention provider and need support getting credentialied, understanding the process and paperwork, and would benefit from additional training on how to work with very young children and their families. This option includes unliminted mentorship for six-months.

SINGLE CLASS - $100 MENTORSHIP ONLY - $125/hr Consider these options if you have a specific topic you want to learn more about. This may also be a good fit if you already have a good sense of how to get started or have already launched your business and are looking for ongoing, personalized support.
