Katie Stuepfert, MS, CCC-SLP

Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist

Katie Stuepfert is a licensed speech language pathologist.  She grew up in Normal, IL where she continues to live with her husband, Andy, and three young children.  She has been providing private speech, language and listening therapy to children around central Illinois since 2016. 


She is a native English speaker.  She also offers services in Spanish and American Sign Language.


  • Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association

  • Illinois Speech Language Pathologist License

  • Early Intervention provider credential

  • Initial Evaluator in Early Intervention credential

  • Professional Educator License with an approval as a Bilingual Special Education Teacher-Spanish

  • Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in Spanish 

  • Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology

  • Graduate certification: Deaf and Hard of Hearing Listening and Spoken Language Professional

  • Full-time clinical externships at Peoria District 150 Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing Program and Carle Auditory Oral School in Urbana, IL


Clinical Interests

  • Supporting speech, language and listening development in children who are deaf or hard-of-hearing, regardless of choice of communication modality, including:

    • Listening and spoken language​

    • American Sign Language

    • Total Communication

    • Cued Speech

  • Early language development

  • Augmentative and alternative communication

  • Language development in children who are exposed to more than one language, with an emphasis on Spanish-English bilingualism


  • Evaluation and treatment of children birth through high school

  • Provide services in English, Spanish, ASL and Total Communication

  • School-based bilingual speech-language pathologist serving preschool and elementary school
